A New Edition of the Invitation
This week, Valls per la Llengua presented the third edition of the citizen challenge that seeks to increase the social use of Catalan in Valls through a change in linguistic customs.
The Citizen Challenge
During 21 days, participants are asked to maintain Catalan in their conversations with people who already speak it. This proposal is open to all residents of Valls who speak Catalan. In addition, a specific Invitation will be organized for 4th year ESO students from high schools in Vallen to promote the use of Catalan in this environment.
Details of Participation
To participate in the General Invitation (with a minimum age of 16), you must register before March 28. The Invitation will take place from April 23 to May 13. Previously, the participants will receive a one and a half hour training session between April 2 and 22, where they will be provided with linguistic resources to maintain Catalan in their conversations.
Monitoring and Presentation of Results
During the 21 days of the Invitation, participants will receive a short electronic questionnaire each night to report how often they have used Catalan in their conversations. The global results of the experience will be presented at the IV Jornades de Valls per la Llengua, at the end of November, and will serve to improve the organization of future invitations, both general and specific.
