A remastering that highlights the artistic legacy
On Saturday, April 6, at the Sixto Mir de la Ràpita auditorium, “Entre les terres del Riu” was screened, a short film that was created in 2008 under the direction and production of Josep Juan Segarra, with the support of the Town Hall of Ràpita. The remastering of the tape in 2022 by the photographer Josep Forné has highlighted a document that provides a unique look at the creative process of the artist Miquel Paton.
A unique look at the Delta
The documentary, presented at the Episcopal Palace in Tortosa as part of the exhibition “Miquel Paton. Paintings” curated by Dra. Núria Gil in May 2008, brings us closer to Paton’s unique geometric abstraction and leads us through the creative process through which Paton painted the Delta from his personal perspective.
An emotional day
The viewing of the short film was accompanied by interventions by the people who collaborated in the development of the project, giving the event a touch of charm and emotion. Various collaborators shared their memories and experiences in the creation of the documentary, highlighting the personal relationship with Miquel Paton and his contribution to the project.

The figure of Miquel Paton was the center of a round table moderated by the historian and journalist Josep Pitarch, where his figure and artistic career were discussed. Various members of the community, including teachers, friends and art experts, shared their perceptions of Paton and his contribution to the community and the art world.

The event culminated with words of thanks and recognition for Miquel Paton’s career, with the councilor for Culture, Noèlia Belmonte, and the deputy mayor, Marc Brunet, highlighting Paton’s roots in La Ràpita and his distinctive contribution to the community. The tribute was completed with emotional details, such as the reading of texts and the projection of his work and influence in the region.
