Carrizosa de Cs proposes changes in fiscal policy and infrastructure
The Cs candidate in the Catalan elections, Carlos Carrizosa, has presented proposals for economic and infrastructural reforms in Catalonia. In a conference at Nueva Economía Fórum, Carrizosa expressed the need for new routes and more frequent flights at Barcelona-el Prat Airport, criticizing the resistance of the ERC governments and the Commons to these initiatives. In addition, he emphasized the importance of investing in hydraulic, electrical, rail and road infrastructure such as the B-40, while considering that the Hard Rock was an excuse not to approve budgets and call elections.
Tax reforms to attract companies and reduce the tax burden
Carrizosa pointed out the need to put an end to the independence process, arguing that it has caused economic problems and a decline in Catalonia. He described the current situation as a ‘fiscal hell’ and proposed the gradual elimination of the 15 Catalan own taxes and the reduction of personal income tax to attract companies that moved their tax headquarters in 2017. According to Carrizosa, these measures are necessary already that Catalonia has the highest tax burden, with most taxes being inefficient.
Political positioning and view on other parties
In relation to the formation of the government, Carrizosa stated that Cs will not support any separatist government. In addition, he labeled Vox and Aliança Catalana as far-right parties and criticized the rest of the political forces for their lack of solutions to independence. He also championed the need to speak openly about immigration and the removal of repeat offenders, opposing what he described as “left-wing bonhomie” on the issue.
