The new Mossos d’Esquadra police station in La Jonquera
The new Mossos d’Esquadra police station in La Jonquera, which will replace the current prefabricated modules, will not open until June. This decision has been taken by the Department of the Interior, after the initial announcement that the opening would take place in April. The equipment, which has involved an investment of more than 3 million euros, will serve 13 municipalities in the area.
The visit of the Government delegate to Girona
The Government representative in Girona, Laia Cañigueral, has announced the new opening date during a site visit to the facilities. This visit has also served to take stock of the last three years in terms of Interior in the Girona counties. During this period, 238 Mossos d’Esquadra agents have been added and 107 new vehicles have been acquired to increase the fleet by 32 units.
Service to 13 municipalities in the area
In addition to Jonquera, the new police station will also serve the municipalities of Cantallops, Capmany, Sant Climent Sescebes, Espolla, Rabós, Mollet de Peralada, Masarac, Biure, Darnius, Maçanet de Cabrenys, la Vajol and Agullana.
