Owners and real estate agents express their concerns
The real estate sector shows restlessness and dissatisfaction with the housing bill that is being debated in the Principality of Andorra. Jordi Ribó, prominent member of Fiabci (International Federation of Real Estate Professions) and AGIA (College of Agents and Managers), addressed the issue during a call to RTVA’s ‘Avui Serà un Bon Dia’ program for clarify the position of the owners before the legislative proposal.
Lack of clarity in the concept of
The real estate sector’s main concern lies in the lack of definition and clarity around the ‘vacant flats’ proposed in the bill. Ribó emphasized that while they are not opposed to the idea of putting vacant homes on the market, they demand a precise definition to avoid confusion and ensure legal certainty.
Exclusion of the sector in the legislative process
Ribó regretted the lack of participation of the real estate sector in the early stages of the legislative process and highlighted the importance of closer collaboration between the government and interested parties. In addition, he pointed out the refusal of the Government and the commons to provide the statistics requested by the real estate sector in recent years.
Possible actions against a questioned project
The representative of the real estate sector points out that, if the project is approved in its current form, the owners do not rule out taking the relevant actions, since they question the constitutionality of it. Likewise, they emphasize that not only the right to housing must be protected, but also private property as a constitutional right.
