The Socialist Group in the Provincial Council of Valladolid expresses its surprise
The Socialist Group in the Provincial Council of Valladolid has expressed its surprise at the participation of the institution in the Moto GP Grand Prix held in Jerez on April 27 and 28.
The stated purpose was to promote the Foods of Valladolid brand at said sporting event, through the sponsorship of the Fanzone Vip Village, an exclusive area not accessible to the general public.
Questions about resource allocation
The formation led by Francisco Ferreira does not understand the realization of this public expenditure, especially considering that the government team of the Provincial Council does not attend to the needs of the municipalities of the province.
It is highlighted that the amount allocated to the Provincial Plans in the budgets has not increased since 2019, and the little aid provided to the municipalities affected by the past floods is mentioned.
In addition, the loss of a subsidy of 529,000 euros in European funds for the development of commerce in the province is criticized, as well as the rejection of initiatives to increase the amount allocated to Provincial Plans and the repair of roads.
Position of the Popular Party
It is noted that the Popular Party in the Provincial Council has rejected proposals to increase investment in the Provincial Plans and to allocate resources to fixing the roads, while showing no problems in spending money on events of dubious benefit.
The image projected by the institution by boasting about this type of actions is criticized, considering it inappropriate.
Statements by the socialist spokesperson
The socialist spokesperson, through a statement collected by Europa Press, insists on the lack of resources for investments in roads, increase in Provincial Plans or repair of damage caused by natural disasters, contrasting with the expense on the trip to the Grand Prix from Jerez.
It is mentioned that support for specialized events, such as INTUR, FITUR or Madrid Fusión, is supported, but the sponsorship of events that are not related to the desired promotion is considered unjustifiable, especially in the circumstances presented.
