A new unexpected reinforcement
FC Barcelona has surprised everyone with the arrival of a player who seemed to be outside the club’s plans. This is Ángel López, a talented defender who has stood out in the Hypermotion League defending the colors of UD Levante. His performance has been so impressive that he has become one of the best defenders in the competition.
Despite his good performance, Barça did not have him in their plans to reinforce the left back, as they were considering other options. However, Marcos Alonso’s injury and Alejandro Balde’s lack of performance have led the club to reconsider his decision and give López a chance.
A competing demarcation
The demarcation of the left back has been a competitive position at Barça. Although Ángel López has demonstrated his quality, the club considers that he is not yet ready to compete in the Champions League or to be a reliable replacement for Balde. For this reason, they have decided to transfer him to another EA Sports La Liga team so that he continues to progress and gain experience.
Barça’s sporting director has highlighted the importance of not putting excessive pressure on López, especially considering that he is still young, only 19 years old. However, the club is confident in his potential and will offer him an extension to his contract, which expires in 2025, to secure his future in the team.
An example to follow
Barça has found in Chadi Riad, a Betis player, an example to follow for Ángel López. Riad also had to go out on loan to gain experience and demonstrate his talent. His decision turned out to be correct, as he became a key player in the team and managed to be called up to the Moroccan national team.
From Benito Villamarín, they have shown interest in welcoming Ángel López, since they need to strengthen their left back. This opportunity would allow López to continue growing as a player and have the consistency he needs to develop his full potential.
