A Double Celebration in the Month of May
During this month of May, the Torre Glòries Viewpoint has reasons to celebrate. On the one hand, it has established itself as one of the main cultural and tourist attractions in the Glòries area, which is the new urban epicenter of the city of Barcelona. On the other hand, it has been accepted as a member of the exclusive World Federation of Great Towers, becoming the only building in Spain, along with the Collserola Tower, to form part of this prestigious international organization.
The acceptance of the Torre Glòries Viewpoint by the public and its inclusion in the World Federation of Great Towers are recognition of the hard work carried out over the last two years. This anniversary consolidates the Mirador as an international benchmark in terms of tourist experience. Aware of the challenges of sustainability and climate emergency, it invites visitors to contemplate and understand today’s Barcelona to imagine the cities of the future. An Increase in Popularity
During the last year, the Mirador Torre Glòries has experienced a 20% increase in the number of visitors, reaching the figure of 120,000 visitors annually. Of these, 42% are local and national visitors, while 58% are international visitors. Among the international markets, Germany (6.2%), France (5.1%), the United States (4.6%) and Italy (4.3%) stand out.
The completion of Plaça de les Glòries is scheduled for the last quarter of the year, which will turn this area into a new urban landmark and reaffirm the original idea of the Cerdà Plan. Plaza de las Glòries will become a new epicenter for 21st century Barcelona and will offer a new perspective of the iconic Glòries Tower. Furthermore, it is expected that the square will be a meeting point for the citizens of Barcelona.
An Emblematic Monument
The Torre Glòries Viewpoint joins a select list of monuments that are part of the World Federation of Great Towers. These include the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Empire State Building in New York, The Shard in London, the Tokyo Tower in Tokyo and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This inclusion is a recognition of the commitment of the Mirador Torre Glòries to the excellence and quality of the experience it offers to its visitors. These attributes have been recognized internationally through awards such as The Most Remarkable Venue Awards 2022 (Tiqets) and The Best Customer Experience at the Tourism Innovation Awards 2023.
