Closing of a Magical Exhibition

The Agrupació Ilerdenca de Pessebristes has put an end to its exhibition of nativity scenes and dioramas with a discreet but emotional event at the Peu del Romeu chapel, which opened its doors on December 14th.

A Recognition of Tradition

Xavier Blanco, councilor for Festivities and Traditions of the Paeria, was present at the event, where he highlighted the important contribution of the group to the Christmas culture of Lleida, keeping the essence of the nativity scene alive and becoming a reference for the community.

Positive Community Reaction

Jordi Curcó, president of the Association, expressed his joy at the remarkable interest shown by the people of Lleida, with nearly 9,000 visits to the exhibition and 160 nativity scenes participating in the competition, figures that demonstrate the vitality of this tradition.

Solidarity in Difficult Times

During the event, a raffle was held for a charity nativity scene for the benefit of the Belenistas Association of Valencia, which has suffered the consequences of La Dana. Carmen Julia Lobera Garanto was the winner, and next January 12th she will be given the nativity scene, with a total collection of €360 that will be used to help affected nativity scenes.

A Musical Commemoration

The event concluded with an emotional rendition of the traditional Christmas carol ‘Fum, fum, fum…’, sung by all the attendees, reliving the joy of the exhibition’s opening day.

Looking Towards the Future

To close this Christmas Cycle, the Agrupació Ilerdenca de Pessebristes will organize the awards ceremony for the nativity scene competition on Sunday, January 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Enric Granados Auditorium, with a performance by the Vailets Choir of the Orfeó Lleidatà, promising a memorable closing to a season full of tradition and unity.
