by PREMIUM.CAT

A party with history and news

Next Sunday, March 9, Reus will host a new edition of the Tres Tombs Festival, a tradition that celebrates the relationship between humans and animals. Organized by the Association of Friends of the Horse of the Counties of Tarragona, with the support of the City Council of Reus and the Guàrdia Urbana, this year the party moves a week later due to the Carnival.

An inclusive event

With its 38th edition, the celebration seeks to be an example of inclusivity and respect for participating animals. Daniel Recasens, Councilor for Culture, emphasizes the importance of maintaining alive traditions and integrating measures that ensure animal welfare during the event.

Itinerary and scheduled activities

The route of the Tres Tombs 2025 will begin in the Park of the Festa and will continue through several emblematic streets of the city, including Avenida dels Països Catalans and Carrer de Sant Joan. The retinue, formed by animals and carriages, will leave at 11:30, following an itinerary designed for the safety and enjoyment of the attendees.

Activities for all

In addition to the main show, the party will offer varied activities such as performances by giant groups and narratives of the ‘Tale of the Three Tombs’, which promise to entertain adults and children. There will also be a space dedicated to the little ones with toy easels in the Plaza de Catalunya.

Commitment to animal welfare

The organization has pledged to follow the guidelines of the Catalan Federation of the Three Tombs, which include veterinary controls and security protocols to ensure that all animals are treated with dignity and respect. This includes the supervision of transport and the health of animals before and after the event.

A celebration that unites

The Feast of the Three Tombs is not only a show of tradition, but also an opportunity for the Reus community to meet and celebrate its culture. With the participation of local entities such as Bravium Teatre, which will offer blessed cakes, the party is presented as a time of social cohesion and fun.

A look into the future

With this year’s edition, Reus reaffirms his commitment to the preservation of traditions and inclusivity. The Feast of the Three Tombs is outlined as a key event in the cultural calendar of the city, hoping to continue attracting visitors and promoting respect for animals and local culture.
