Catalan personalities and former deputies show support for Puigdemont
A manifesto signed by up to 250 personalities and former Catalan deputies was published today to show support for the former president of the Generalitat and leader of Junts+, Carles Puigdemont. The manifesto, titled ‘Towards an independent Catalonia with President Puigdemont’, defends that Junts+ is the list that best represents the legitimacy of 1-O and that Puigdemont is recognized as the most prominent defender of the cause of Catalan independence , both in Catalonia and internationally.

The signatories of the manifesto consider that Puigdemont is an asset of great value and that his fight for the independence of Catalonia makes him deserve respect and prestige at an international level. For this reason, they are asking for his reinstatement as leader of the Catalan executive in order to complete the process towards independence.

The manifesto has the support of several outstanding personalities from different fields, such as culture, journalism and business. Among the signatories are the rapper Valtònyc, the actors Toni Albà, Lloll Bertran, Luis Marco and Joan Lluís Bozzo, the sociologist Salvador Cardús, the archaeologist Eudald Carbonell, the conductors Edmon Colomer and Salvador Brotons, the journalists Carles Porta and Llibert Ferri, the chef Ada Parellada, the cartoonist Pilarín Bayés, the former president of the Chamber of Barcelona Mònica Roca, the businessman Alfons Duran Pich and the former secretary of the former president of the Generalitat Josep Tarradellas, Montserrat Catalan, among others others There are also former MPs from different political parties who support Puigdemont.
