A trip of fifty -year -old

In 2025 it marks a special moment for the Creu Blanca family, which proudly commemorates half a century dedicated to its mission within the church. Its canonical approval, led by Archbishop Carlos Amigo Vallejo in Tangier on March 27, 1975, was a key step in its history, a moment that was celebrated as a new beginning.

Isidoro Lezcano’s vision

Isidoro Lezcano, founder of Creu Blanca, together with his first collaborators, conceived the organization as a refuge for those who were in vulnerable situations. His trip began with the inauguration of the Betania family home in Ceuta in 1963, a space designed to offer reception and support to those who needed it most.

The desire to attend to the most needy

At the age of 25, Lezcano became a volunteer nurse, dedicating himself to caring for those who had no home or were considered incurable. Its aspiration was to create a true family, where the help and reception were the nucleus of everyday life.

A transformative mission

Blanca Cross mission is based on the creation of a more equitable society, where life is celebrated and defended. Through a Christian humanist approach, the organization works to guarantee the integral development of the most vulnerable people.

Interconnection and diversity

With 32 family houses and 16 centers on its net, Creu Blanca enhances the collaboration and cohesion between the different services it offers. Its international presence extends to countries such as Morocco, Venezuela and Argentina, where programs adapted to local needs have been established.

Comprehensive care and social inclusion

Each year, more than 22,000 people find support for Creu Blanca, which covers a wide range of needs: from people with disabilities and mental health disorders to children in a situation of social exclusion. Its mission also includes working with victims of traffic and exploitation.

A space of coexistence

Creu Blanca is not only an organization, but a true community where people attended, professionals and volunteers coexist and share experiences. Here, each individual is valued and is offered the opportunity to grow in a solidarity environment.

One year of celebrations

On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, Creu Blanca has adopted the motto ’50 years of house and family ‘, with a series of events scheduled throughout the year in various locations where the organization operates.

For more information on commemorative activities, a dedicated website has been created: www.cruzblanca.org/50aniversario.
