Highlighted visit of the Government Delegate

Last Monday, Torredembarra hosted the new delegate of the Government of the Generalitat in Camp de Tarragona, Lucía López, in a visit that has marked a new chapter in institutional relations. The day began with a warm reception by members of the municipal corporation, which gave way to a working meeting focused on vital issues for the local community.

Health Priorities: The new Primary Care Center

One of the most important topics addressed was the planning of the future primary care center (CAP). The mayor, Vale Pino, emphasized the need to accelerate the roadmap for its construction and presented the initial work to improve access to the center. The importance of updating the CAP’s service catalog to better adapt to the needs of the population was another prominent point. Pino expressed his disappointment for not being chosen as a pilot project of the new primary care centers, but was optimistic about future opportunities.

Cultural Projects: The Auditorium Theater in process

As for the Auditorium Theater, the City Council has advanced by commissioning an executive project to review the costs of completion of the works. The mayor informed the delegate the need to have the support of the Generalitat to successfully culminate this ambitious cultural project, which promises to enrich the artistic offer of the town.

Education: urgent and future perspective needs

In the educational area, Pino recalled the questions raised above by the Minister of Education and the Director General of Educational Centers. The need to expand the l’Antina school dining room due to lack of space became a central theme, as well as the proposal to carry out a demographic study to evaluate the construction of a new school in Torredembarra. In addition, the approval of the studies of the Municipal School of Adult Mar de Lletres was emphasized, with the first steps already implemented, such as the hiring of specialized teachers.

Institutional collaboration: a step forward

This meeting was essential to identify the key needs of Torredembarra and strengthen the collaboration between the City Council and the Generalitat. The open and constructive dialogue between the two institutions is essential to improve the services and infrastructure of the town, guaranteeing a more promising future for its citizens.
