A fatal fire in a hotel
On Sunday afternoon, a devastating fire took place in a hotel located on the seafront of Santa Susanna, in the Maresme, causing the death of a firefighter from the Generalitat firefighters. The emergency service operator was trapped inside while trying to control the fire that had originated at the establishment’s underground floor.

The alert was received at 19.29, at which time eight ground units were immediately mobilized to deal with the situation. On their arrival, the local police and the hotel staff confirmed that the 250 people present had been safely evacuated.
