The SEPE and unemployment benefit payment
The SEPE is the body in charge of managing and paying monthly unemployment benefits and other types of subsidies in our country. This transfer is expected by millions of people every month.
Date of receipt of unemployment benefit
The SEPE establishes the 10th of each month as the entry date for unemployment benefit, the over-52 benefit and family benefit. If this day is a holiday, payment will be made on the following business day. This June, the general payment will be made next Monday the 10th.
Advance payment by Banco Santander
Some entities, such as Banco Santander, choose to advance the payment of unemployment benefits to their customers. In the case of Banco Santander customers, the deposit will be made this Thursday, June 6. Entry dates vary by bank.
Dates of receipt of unemployment benefit
Below are the dates of receipt of the unemployment benefit in different banking entities:
Amount of unemployment benefit
The amount of unemployment benefits varies depending on several factors. In general, the subsidies have an amount equivalent to 80% of the IPREM. However, if the last employment contract was not full-time, the amount will be calculated proportionally to the hours worked (https://serveiseducatius.xtec.cat/alturgell/portada/recursos-pel-tractament-de- texts/). It is important to note that the unemployment benefit does not include an extra payment, as indicated by the SEPE on its website.
Possible reasons for not receiving aid or for receiving a smaller amount
If you do not receive unemployment benefit or receive a smaller amount than expected, there may be several reasons. Some of these reasons may be that the benefit has ended or that the amount has been reduced from the seventh month (from 70% to 60% of the base).
