A New Paradigm for Female Health and Sexuality
In today’s context, women’s health and sexuality remain topics that are often discussed in silence. Despite social improvements, a stigma still persists that makes women talk about issues such as menstruation or menopause in a restricted environment, away from public conversation. Aware of this reality, two female entrepreneurs have started an innovative path that seeks to provide an open space for discussion and education on issues that affect women in their various life stages.
Dahlia: A Pioneering Initiative
Dália, a start-up born in 2021, has taken a brave step to break with the prejudices surrounding erotic shops. Located in Lleida, considered one of the most conservative cities in Catalonia, Dàlia has become a point of reference for women looking for information and products related to their sexual health. Its offer includes everything from intimate hygiene products to erotic toys, and highlights the innovative Eureka menstrual cup, designed for ease of use and comfort.
A Space for Conscious Intimacy
The co-founder of Dàlia, Marc Santamaria, emphasizes that his mission is to create an environment where women feel safe to explore and discuss issues related to their sexuality and health. ‘Conscious intimacy’ is a concept that encapsulates this vision, promoting an open dialogue about issues that have traditionally been kept in the shadows.
Innovation and Growth
With a staff of seven people, Dàlia has expanded its presence with two stores in Lleida and Girona, and with plans to open more points of sale. In addition, the company is looking to grow on social media to expand its community. Their products, including the menstrual cup and menstrual bikini, are not only accessible in stores, but can also be purchased online, making it easier to reach a wider audience.
A Community at the Center of Everything
Dália is not limited to selling products, but is dedicated to building a community of women who can share experiences and knowledge. Its workshops and talks, led by accredited sexologists, provide a space for reflection and learning, fostering a culture of support and empowerment.
Looking to the Future
With a clear vision of being a reference in intimate health, Dália is committed to being a source of inspiration and information for women. Co-founder Santamaria expresses her desire to create a brand that not only sells products, but also encourages a conscious conversation about women’s health. As it moves forward, the company seeks to join forces and create a lasting impact on society, reaffirming the importance of speaking openly about female sexuality.
