A tireless defender of national rights and Catalan internationalism
On the first of April, Aureli Argemí i Roca, recognized as a point of reference for Catalan internationalism and a tireless defender of the national rights of the Catalan Countries, left us. With a career marked by commitment and dedication, he founded the Escarré International Center for Ethnic Minorities and Nations (CIEMEN) and was one of the promoters of several initiatives in defense of Catalan culture and language.
A follower of meaningful projects
Aureli Argemí i Roca, born in Sabadell in 1936, lived an intense career in which his involvement in important projects stood out. Among them, the creation of the Foundation for the Collective Rights of Peoples, the Coordinator of Associations for the Catalan Language (CAL) and participation in the Universal Declaration of Linguistic Rights. In addition, he was one of the founders of the Platform for the Right to Decide and played an essential role in the Catalan National Assembly.
