A cinematographic project that takes off the tradition of the Shepherds of Sant Feliu
More than 5 years ago, an ambitious project was launched to pay tribute to the 100-year history of the Pastorets de Sant Feliu: “Els Pastorets. The Movie”. After a period of intense work, this feature film is now a reality and in 2023 and 2024, the recordings of the scenes that will shape this audiovisual piece have already begun.
Call for local extras
This weekend, the organization of the film is looking for people who want to participate as extras in two special scenes that will be recorded in the church of Sant Ponç, in Corbera. Around 25-30 local people are being sought to be part of this collaboration, offering them the possibility to be part of this local and amateur film initiative.
A meticulous recording process
With more than 100 people involved in the project, the recordings continue with strength and constancy, ensuring the quality and detail of each scene. With scenes such as the union of Joseph and Mary and the representation of the birth of Jesus, the church of Sant Ponç becomes the perfect setting for this visual tribute.

People interested in participating as extras can get in touch by sending an email to [email protected] and they will be advised on the functions and logistics of the recording day. Once the required number of participants is completed, the registration period will close.
A feature film that materializes a long-awaited tribute
The year 2018 marked the beginning of this large-scale project, driven to commemorate the 100-year history of the Pastorets de Sant Feliu de Llobregat. Despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic, the long-awaited tribute has taken shape and the recordings are moving forward steadily, trying to capture every detail and emotion that surrounds this local tradition.
Route to the premiere
Forecasts indicate that at the end of 2024 the recordings of the scenes will be completed, paving the way for the assembly and editing phase during 2025. With the aim of a premiere at Cinebaix before the end of this year, expectations are high in the sample wheel and the recognition of local spectators.
A script with the essence of the Shepherds of Sant Feliu
The feature pays homage to the original story created by Josep Maria Folch i Torres, fusing it with the passion and commitment of the current protagonists of this annual celebration. The coordinator of the work, Bernat Casanovas, underlines the complexity of this process, but also the overcoming of expectations and the attraction that this initiative awakens in the new generations.
Financial challenges and aspirations
The project initially planned an investment of 40,000 euros, but it has now had to be adapted to a budget of approximately 15,000 euros. Despite this, the economic adjustment does not diminish the enthusiasm or dedication of those involved, highlighting the dedication and collective effort to guarantee an optimal result. With the focus on the assembly and editing phase, possible initiatives are articulated to raise funds and face this last stage with professional resources.
