A day of celebration on the covered track
Last Saturday, the Covered Track of Sabadell became the stage for the exciting final tests of the Championships of Catalonia for the U-12 and Under-14 categories, both male and female. With a large influx of athletes who had reached their place through the previous day, the C.A. Igualada Petromiralles/Rigat Water stood out with a notable performance, capturing the attention of the public and the judges.
Highlights in the sub-12 categories
Among the brightest performances is the magnificent performance of Aaron Ceusán, who was crowned as a champion of Catalonia in long jump with a jump of 4.57 meters. In addition, it also succeeded in the 60 meters fences, with a time of 9.51 seconds, dominated in the semifinals with a record of 9.63 seconds.
Other memorable performances
In the height jump, Nur Alba won a deserving fourth place with a jump of 1.28 meters, while Eugeni Burria followed it in ninth position with 1.23 meters. Flavia Castillo stood out in the 200 meters smooth, ending fifth with a time of 29.81 seconds, and was seventh in the final of the 60 meters smooth with 9.12 seconds.
The female force at the Sub-14 Championship
The young CAI athletes continued to leave a mark on the Catalan Under-14 Championship, with Martina Alzuria standing out in the height jump, where he finished sixth with 1.37 meters. The team of 4×200 meters, formed by Marta Sevilla, Martina Acosta, Nahía Ramos and Olga Estival, took a respectable sixth place with a time of 1’55 “57.
Challenge and perseverance
Nahía Ramos also showed a great determination, ending seventh in the 60 meters fences with a time of 10.82 seconds, and Martina Acosta competed with courage, ending tenth in the long jump with 4.34 meters. The competition was intense, but each athlete showed his passion and dedication.
Under-14 male competence: effort and learning
In the under-14 men’s category, CAI athletes also fought with determination. Guillem Solé finished ninth in the 600 meters smooth with a time of 1’46 “60, while Gerard Pont took tenth place in the 1,000 smooth meters with 3’19” 47. Roger Bisbal closed the day with a remarkable effort, ending eleventh in the 2,000 smooth meters with a record of 7’01 “74.
Final reflections on the championship
The day was a reflection of the dedication and effort of all the participating athletes. Each of them showed that, beyond the results, learning and passion for sport are the real prize.
