Health Week: an integral approach
Between May 15 and 29, Vila-Seca will be the stage of an enriching health week, a collaboration between the Santa Tecla Network and the local City Council. This event, entitled ‘Healthily’, seeks to encourage both physical and emotional health through a series of workshops, conferences and community activities.
Activities for all tastes
The Health Week will be carried out in the three population centers of Vila-Seca, La Pineda and La Plana, focusing on emotional well-being, disease prevention and active aging. Programming includes a variety of proposals, among which are:
Informative talks
The event will begin on Thursday, May 15 with the Conference ‘Alzheimer’s today’, presented by the neurologist Dr. Alfonso Moral Pijaume at Recreo San Esteban. This talk will be repeated on Wednesday, May 21 at the Civic and Cultural Center of La Pineda, addressing issues about dementias and its prevention.
Walks and outdoor activities
On Monday, May 19, citizens will be able to participate in a popular walk towards the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Pinar, with simultaneous exits from Cap Vila-Seca and the Pineda office. In the afternoon, the users of the residence will make an exit to the Municipal Sports Pavilion to enjoy an artistic skating exhibition of the Patí Vila-Seca Club.
Community interaction
On Thursday, May 22, informative tents will be installed in the local market, where attendees may collaborate in the creation of a collective map of health assets of the municipality. This activity seeks to promote the active participation of the community in health matters.
Mental health dialogues
On Monday, May 26, a session entitled ‘We make coffee and talk about mental health?’ In the Civic and Cultural Center El Colomí, where the psychologist José Antonio Sánchez and the psychiatrist Dr. Álvarez Rosa Mariné of the Pere Mata Institute will seek to create a safe space to openly discuss emotional well -being.
Closure with cultural reflection
The Health Week will conclude on Thursday, May 29 with a talk-collocation entitled ‘El Duel through the culture’ in Vila-Seca Castle. This event, part of the ‘Health and Culture’ project, will be attended by medical professionals and the collaboration of the URV CFIS, focusing on the relationship between culture and the grieving process.
A step towards a healthier community
Through this varied programming, it is sought not only to promote healthy habits, but also strengthen social ties among citizens, contributing to a general improvement in the quality of life of the Vila-Seca community.
