A nova stage per to ritmiks festival
The Ritmiks Festival, dedicated to young music talents in Europe, arrives for the first time in Vilafranca on May 31. This initiative, which promotes innovative music education and cultural exchange, will be held in 40 locations in Catalonia, including our city.
International collaboration with music schools
The participation of the Maria Dolors Calvet Municipal School of Music is remarkable, as it will coordinate with renowned institutions such as the Conrad Saló de la Bisbal d’Empordà and several schools in Switzerland and Italy. In total, 80 students will form music ensembles that will combine classic and contemporary styles.
Various compositions and a prominent director
Among the participants, five students from Vilafranca will be part of a big band, providing instruments such as the sax and double bass, as well as three voices in the heart. Alex Casañas, one of the directors selected by the Catalan Association of Music Schools, will direct the Jazz Band, contributing his experience and vision to the project.
Concerts and events in Vilafranca
Spectators will enjoy a concert in the Penedès square between 11am and 13.30pm on May 31, where all the formations will be presented. This event will culminate in a great closing of the festival in Manresa.
Additional activities in Sant Sadurní
The same day, Sant Sadurní will also host concerts with the participation of various music groups, including students from the Guitar Classroom of the Local Music School and other international formations.
Celebrations of end of course in Vilafranca
Prior to the festival, on May 30, the Vilafranca Music School will celebrate its end of year with events such as ‘Balls a Banda’ and the ‘Ball de Plaça’, where the talent of the musicians will be shown in traditional formations.
Promising future for young musicians
In addition, the Music School will offer another show on June 7, which will include choirs performances and a musical exchange with the Santa Perpètua de la Mogoda school. The students of Vilafranca will continue to show their talent to other events such as the Music Festival on June 20 and in Vijazz, scheduled for the first weekend of July.
