A festival full of activities
From January 10 to 12, Vilanova del Camí will be transformed into a vibrant meeting point for its Winter Festival, coinciding with the festival of Sant Hilari. This celebration fuses tradition, culture and leisure, offering varied proposals that will attract visitors of all ages, including institutional events and the popular Fira del Camí Ral.
Key moments from Saturday
Saturday will be highlighted by two significant events. At 12:00, Can Papasseit will be the setting for an emotional tribute to the Golden Wedding, where six couples from Vilanova will be recognized for celebrating five decades of marriage. The honorees include Alfonso Marín and Trinidad Ortega, Antonio Maza and Rosa Mari Claramunt, among others.
Later, at 6:00 p.m., the Vilart Exhibition Hall, located at Carrer Verge de Montserrat, 9, will be inaugurated. On this occasion, the artist Josep Ferulli will present his exhibition “Cardboard Suitcases”, which addresses migration from an intimate and reflective perspective.
Sunday: Fair and theater
On Sunday, January 12, the XXVI Fira de Camí Ral will become the center of attention, running between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Plaça Major and adjacent streets. This fair promises a rich offer of artisan products, stalls from local businesses, activities for the little ones and demonstrations of traditional crafts.
Visitors will be able to enjoy travelling shows that will liven up the atmosphere. In addition, a street theatre performance entitled “El Sastre Fàbregues, el bandoler de Vilanova del Camí” has been organised, which explores local history with the active participation of residents and organisations.
A space for the community
In a similar vein to previous editions, Sunday will also host a meeting of the winners of the “Buy and Win” initiative, where around twenty participants from different parts of Catalonia will be able to enjoy activities such as the Pujada al Dipòsit, a visit to the fair and a community lunch.
An invitation to participate
With this varied program, Vilanova del Camí calls on all citizens to join a major festival that celebrates both tradition and innovation, highlighting the cultural richness and dynamism that characterize this municipality.
