An Artistic Journey for the New Generations
The elPetit festival, which turns two decades old this year, is presented as an open window to art for the little ones. With a diverse program that runs from November 9 to 24, the festival will offer more than sixty family performances and forty school shows, spanning thirteen cities and twenty-nine different venues.
Celebrating Culture in Sabadell
This edition of the festival coincides with the proclamation of Sabadell as Capital of Catalan Culture 2024, the place of origin of the festival. Isabel Urpí, one of the co-directors, emphasizes the importance of providing each child with time for symbolic play, an essential activity for their emotional and social development.

Premieres and Shows
The inauguration of the festival will take place with the show ‘La Fabuleuse histoire de BasarKus’ at the Teatre Municipal de l’Escorxador in Lleida, while the main event in Sabadell will take place with ‘Copiar’ by Animal Religion.
New Artistic Proposals
Among the premieres this year, ‘teNir (sosteNir)’ by the company A K Entrepôt stands out, which addresses the importance of supporting children. Other performances such as ‘SUM’ by Baychimo Teatro and ‘Augenschein & Blickfang’ by Breloque Theater Group promise to enrich the audience’s experience.
Outdoor Activities
One of the big news is the inclusion of free activities in the street, such as ‘A Caravana’ and ‘Lilliput’, which invites you to reinvent classic tales. ‘The Twist of Metal’, an innovative scrap carousel, fuses games, circus and creativity, promoting reuse as an essential value.
Training and Professional Dialogue
The festival will also be a meeting point for professionals with the IX International Meeting of Arts for Early Childhood, which will bring together more than 100 experts in the sector. In addition, the ‘Teachers on the Move’ program will offer specific training for early childhood educators.
Social Commitment and Inclusivity
With an inclusive approach, elPetit collaborates with prisons, providing workshops and shows for families. This edition seeks to ensure that all children, including those from the most vulnerable contexts, have access to art.
