We celebrate the visceral cuisine: Capipota Contest in Igualada

La Asociación Gastronómica y Cultural de Vadefoodies, en el marco del Vadefoodies Gastronomic Trends Festival 2025, se organiza con el Ayuntamiento de Igualada, el primer concurso de recetas de Capipota de Cataluña. La competencia quiere "extender y valorar la cocina visceral o la cocina de los niños, tan arraigados en Cataluña con uno de los platos más emblemáticos de gastronomía catalán, como el Capipota". La competencia está dirigida a establecimientos profesionales de catering en toda Cataluña, que tienen (8k, mejor calidad, obra maestra, muy detallada: 1.1)

A unique gastronomic event

The Vadefoodies Gastronomic and Cultural Association has announced an exciting initiative within the framework of the Vadefoodies 2025 Gastronomic Trends Festival, which will take place in Igualada. This event is not only a celebration of gastronomy, it also seeks to revitalize Catalan visceral cuisine through the I Capipota Recipe Contest.

A dish with history

The Capipota, one of the most iconic dishes in Catalan cuisine, becomes the protagonist of this contest. The organizers want to emphasize the importance of this culinary tradition, encouraging the use of children and recipes that reflect the gastronomic richness of the territory.

Participation of Catalan restaurants

The competition is open to all professional restaurants in Catalonia that offer Capipota as part of their usual menu. The best dishes will be awarded with 500 euros for the first classified and 200 euros for the second, thus encouraging the creativity and originality in the preparation of this dish.

An initiative with local rooting

Joan Fontanella, President of Vadefoodies and co -organizer of the event, emphasizes that Igualada is the ideal place for this competition, thanks to its rich gastronomic tradition. Its mission is to make visibility to all the restaurants that preserve and reinvent the capipota.

Defending culinary identity

Cinto Llanas, also a co -organizer, expresses his satisfaction with the increase in restaurants that have begun to include children in their letters. This reflects a positive tendency towards the recovery of traditional cuisine and the exploration of new flavors.

Important dates and details

Those interested in participating must submit their application through a form before April 20. After a pre -selection, up to 24 finalists will be chosen, who will compete on June 7 during the festival.

An expert jury

The jury, which includes prominent figures such as Marc Castells, mayor of Igualada, and the recognized chef Maria Nicolau, will evaluate the creations of the participants. In addition, the festival will offer a wide gastronomic program that promises to be attractive to all lovers of good food.
