Variable weather forecasts in Spain
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a warning through its digital platforms about the imminent arrival of rain in various regions of Spain. These precipitations will not be uniform or general, but will affect different areas of the country in a specific way.
Thursday: intensification of rain in the southwest
Thursday is expected to be a day marked by rainfall that could be persistent around the Gulf of Cadiz and the Strait. The southwestern provinces will be the most affected, with significant accumulations of rain in certain areas.
In contrast, the rest of the Peninsula will experience mostly cloudy weather, with light and scattered rain, especially in the mountainous areas of the north. The eastern regions of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands will enjoy more stable and drier conditions.
Friday: the entrance of an Atlantic front
Friday will witness the arrival of a new Atlantic front that will bring rain to the north-west of the country. Galicia and the Atlantic coast are the areas that will notice this change the most, with precipitation expected to be persistent and, in some cases, heavy.
As the front moves, cloudiness will extend towards the Cantabrian Sea and other regions in the northwestern quadrant, including possible rain in mountainous areas such as the Pyrenees.
Saturday: climatic variations with an anticyclone
A notable change is expected on Saturday with the appearance of an anticyclone in the west of the Peninsula, which will cause a decrease in rain conditions in most regions. However, the impact of low pressures in the western Mediterranean will generate a northerly wind flow.
Rain will continue to be likely in the north, with a special focus on areas such as Galicia, the Cantabrian Sea and the Pyrenees, as well as more scattered precipitation in the eastern peninsula and the Balearic Islands, where the impact of low pressure could be more significant.
Recommendations for dealing with weather conditions
With heavy rains approaching key regions such as the Gulf of Cadiz and Galicia, the AEMET is urging the public to remain vigilant for possible weather warnings. It is crucial to take precautions on the roads and plan trips taking into account changing conditions.
On Saturday, rainy conditions could disrupt outdoor activities, but Sunday promises to be a day of rest in terms of precipitation, although a notable drop in temperatures is expected.
