Storms and torrential rains in Spain
Today, according to the AEMET, heavy downpours accompanied by storms and hail are expected in certain areas of the Spanish territory. The storms could be accompanied by strong gusts of wind and hail, affecting five autonomous communities.
Forecast for Autonomous Communities
In Andalusia, rainfall is expected to be particularly intense in the western provinces, such as Huelva and Seville, with the possibility of storms accompanied by strong gusts of wind and hail. In Castile and Leon, the storms will be concentrated mainly in the mountainous areas of the north and west, with the possibility of hail and strong winds. Castilla-La Mancha is also under alert, with the most severe storms expected in Guadalajara today. In Extremadura, the torrential rains and storms will focus on the northern and eastern areas, such as Cáceres and Badajoz. Finally, in Galicia, the most intense storms are expected in the southern provinces, such as Ourense and Pontevedra.
Forecast for Tomorrow
Tomorrow, the AEMET predicts that the DANA will continue to affect the Iberian Peninsula, generating abundant cloudiness and showers accompanied by storms. Precipitation could be locally strong in areas of the south, the center, the northwest interior, the north of the Iberian system and the upper Ebro. By late afternoon, the storms are expected to move inland to the east and southeast, gradually moving away from the south. In some areas, the storms could be accompanied by hail.
In contrast, no precipitation is expected on the coasts of the southeast, the extreme northeast, Melilla and the Balearic Islands, where intervals of high clouds will predominate. In the Canary Islands, cloudy intervals are expected in the northern areas, with a low probability of weak and scattered precipitation, while the rest of the archipelago will remain mostly clear.
