A Weekend Full of Activities
Santa Margarida de Montbui is preparing for a vibrant weekend with its Winter Festival, which will kick off this Saturday. The Ateneu Cultural i Recreatiu will become the center of various activities that promote interaction between generations.
Dragon Mural: Art and Community
The day will begin with an exciting opportunity for everyone to contribute to the creation of the Dragon mural, scheduled between 12:00 and 14:00, and then again between 17:30 and 19:00. This activity seeks to encourage collaboration and creativity between adults and children, and will be accompanied by a hot chocolate and melindros for all participants.
Competition and Tradition: The Botifarra Championship
At 4:00 p.m., the Ateneo will host the popular sausage championship, a competition that will attract both fans and professionals of the game. Registrations can be made on the day of the event, and the winners will be rewarded with prizes provided by the organization.
A Look at the Past: Special Exhibition
The big news this weekend will be the inauguration of the exhibition “50 years of the Three Kings of Montbui”, which will begin at 6:00 pm in the church of Santa Margarida. This exhibition, which will be available during the next Saturdays and Sundays, will present a rich collection of photographs, historical costumes and other treasures that tell the story of a unique cavalcade in Catalonia, held since 1974.
Dinner and Show: A Night of Laughter
At 9:00 p.m., the Sala del Teatre de l’Ateneu will host the Sant Maure Popular Dinner. After dinner, attendees will be able to enjoy the comedy show “Vull ser millor català”, presented by Josep Maria Raventós and Dani Morlà, followed by a party with DJ PDRICO to close the night with a good atmosphere.
Sunday of Traditions and Fun
Sunday will begin with the patron saint Mass in honor of Sant Maure, accompanied by a parade organized by the Colla El Xaragall. The parade, which will include the Giants of Sant Maure, will leave at 10:15 a.m. from the Town Hall Square, with the solemn service scheduled for 10:45 a.m.
Exchange Market and Children’s Activities
During the morning, the Ateneu will also host an Exchange Market that will run from 11:30 to 14:00, a great opportunity for the community to exchange objects and experiences. In the afternoon, at 17:00, a mixed domino championship will be held, with prizes sponsored by Rosa Llucià, while the little ones will be able to enjoy a games and popcorn area until 19:30 in the Sala del Teatre.
A Party for Everyone
With such a diverse program, the Santa Margarida de Montbui Winter Festival promises to be a memorable celebration, where the community comes together to enjoy culture, tradition and fun.
