The point of view of the Head of Government
Xavier Espot, Head of Government of Andorra, has shown his support for the bill on sustainability and the right to housing in an interview on RTVA’s program ‘Avui Serà un Bon Dia’. He has defended the measures as constitutional and questioned the use of having an unoccupied apartment, referring to his grandfather’s efforts to avoid this situation.

He stressed the importance of looking after everyone’s interests, while pointing out the need to respond to social situations such as the difficulty of accessing housing in Andorra.

The Head of Government has illustrated the situation with the example of an Andorran girl who is forced to live with her ex-partner due to financial difficulties. He highlighted the limitations of options in Andorra compared to other cities where it is possible to move to areas with more affordable housing costs.
