A new approach for the performing arts
Since the 2022-2023 season, the Tantarantana Theater has started an innovative initiative that allows a group of young people directly influencing their programming. This project, called ‘Visionarians’, seeks not only to involve young people in the world of theater, but also to understand their concerns and needs to design an artistic offer adapted to them.
Two different works for a transformation generation
In this third edition, ‘Visionarians’ presents two significant works:’ Isaac ‘of the rare, which will be on the poster until March 16, and’ Glass. Kill. BlueBeaard. ‘ From the well -known playwright Charchill, which will premiere on March 20 and will be on display until April 6.
The influence of the young collective
The selection committee of this edition is made up of prominent figures such as Alex Grande and Africa Bonet Ragel de Novaveu, Julieta Gracia of IES Milà i Fontanals, Alizon Jimena Castro of the KN60Lab and Pablo Cavero Asencio of the RBLS Festival. This group has chosen the pieces from a call for programming of Tantarantana, thus providing a fresh and innovative perspective.
Exploring current topics in ‘Isaac’
Directed by Alba Collado Sànchez, ‘Isaac’ is a work that addresses the frustration of a generation marked by precariousness. Based on the biblical myth of Isaac’s sacrifice, playwright Ramon Micó Vallvé presents us with a protagonist who dialogues with an expiatory goat, thus reflecting the concerns of a youth who seeks happiness in an uncertain work world.
A Dialogue between Generations
Collado emphasizes that the work creates a dialogue between the frustrated expectations of today’s young people and their everyday realities. With a combination of drama and comedy, ‘Isaac’ is presented as a reflection on modern life, similar to Beckett’s works, but with a more accessible approach.
L’Impacte de Caryl Churchill a ‘Glass. Kill. Bluebeard.’
Mireia Claramunt Coll, who directs’ Glass. Kill. BlueBeaard. ”, He considers that the selection of this work is a great success. Churchill, known for her innovative prose, presents three short pieces that explore topics of violence and identity with a contemporary approach.
A journey through myths
With a black comedy tone, these Churchill works examine myths and their relevance today. From the story of a glass girl to reinterpretations of the Orestes myth and the Barbablava tale, each piece challenges the traditional notions of narration.
A commitment to the community
The project ‘Visionaris’ is part of a wider initiative of Tantarantana Theater, which seeks to use the performing arts as a tool for social cohesion. With a history of community projects, the theater has been a meeting and reflection space for its community.
History of success and promising future
In previous editions, ‘Visionarians’ has presented works that have left a significant imprint on the theatrical scene, as ‘How much war’ and ‘Jump’. With titles that explore relevant topics, the project is still a lighthouse of innovation and creativity for new generations of artists.
