Danone’s intentions

Danone has expressed its absolute commitment to the Font Vella plant located in Sant Hilari Sacalm. The company’s intentions to move production from its plant in Parets del Vallès to other production centers have recently been revealed.

According to the unions, 90% of the products, which are based on cow’s milk, will begin to be manufactured in Madrid or Aldaia (Valencia), while the remaining 10%, which are vegetable products, will be produced in Belgium. This information was communicated to the unions during a meeting of the intercentre committee held last Friday.

Concern for other interests in Catalonia

During the same meeting, in which the relocation was openly discussed, concern was also expressed about how this change could affect other interests of the company in Catalonia. Mention is made of the concern for the central offices in Barcelona and the bottling plant located in Sant Hilari Sacalm.
