Reduction of territorial variability and diagnostic time
The Ministry of Health of the Generalitat is developing an operational plan to improve care for endometriosis in Catalonia. The main objective is to reduce territorial variability and speed up diagnoses to avoid more complex situations in women’s health.
Improved access and comprehensive care
This plan seeks to give visibility to women affected by endometriosis and improve access to faster diagnoses. This will help to organize comprehensive care at the different care levels, improving the quality of life of patients.
Interventions and technological support
The Ministry of Health has launched several interventions, from the creation of training content to the provision of technologies necessary to improve care for women affected by endometriosis.
Characteristics of endometriosis and impact
Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects approximately one in ten women of reproductive age. It is characterized by the implantation and growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, with a significant psychological and socioeconomic impact on the affected people.
