The hypocrisy of journalists who are outraged by the Tsunami

A performance empty of meaning

A few days ago, a group of 150 social organizations (with the support of various media personalities of the gang) made a curious staging on the steps of Plaça del Rei in Barcelona to denounce the persecution of the protest, regarding the Tsunami case . Surely many readers remember the image and understand that it was difficult for me to hold back the laughter when I saw some familiar faces from Planeta or Can Godó, companies that had stigmatized the pyrotechnics of this movement while celebrating a form of structural violence much wilder, such as article 155 and the repression following the events of 2017. I have never spoken out for the right to revelry and free expression, among other things because I practice it in every article, writing what comes to mind taste and what my heart dictates; but you need to have little dignity to make fun of the Spaniards while pretending to be a saint.

A sect that should be hidden

I don’t believe in the existence of morally pure souls and I’ve always been suspicious of angelic virtues, but I would say that if any sect should hide when talking about the Tsunami, it’s precisely journalism. The Catalan informants have shown an absolute indifference to discover who were the members of the staff (yes, I write it in lower case) who sent our young people to break their faces at the airport while they were well aware that the the only thing they would do there was get beaten by the mother-in-law. It could be argued that the local plumbers did not want to compromise the judicial repression of any individual, but this total lack of criticism of the architects of the Tsunami has remained intact when it has been known that justice would end up pardoning the leaders; in fact, no one has explained how they live in peace while some naive pawn of the invention has already packed his bags for Switzerland.

A comedy that benefits Pedro Sánchez

It is also somewhat funny to see so many colleagues demonstrating against the Spanish judicial repression in an act that – as even a kindergarten child would understand – buys Pedro Sánchez’s story thread by thread; namely, that Spain is a magnanimous state and that the only impediment to selling it as entirely democratic is to remove a few vestiges. That Jordi Évole or Andreu Buenafuente join the crusade to once again pacify Catalonia instead of sterilizing independence and broadening its base (basically, so that the PSC will once again govern the Generalitat) is quite normal: but what individuals with a certain pro-independence neuron lend themselves to making this comedy is to close the stall and leave it at that. So much misery is understood when it is verified that the idea in question came from Omnium and the ANC, two entities that had been born with goals far removed from doing the PSOE’s laundry.

Some memes that matter little to me

It gives me oceanic joy to hear Laura Rosel demonstrating for the right to protest and blablabla, when the former presenter of El matí de Catalunya Ràdio bowed to the absolute censorship of the processist partitocracy with the Primaries movement; let’s not say contemplate the marble face of Mònica Terribas, with that air of transcendence so similar to Delacroix’s spirited Amazon, a lady who has taken to the limit that existential bipolarity invented by the ineffable Joan Gaspar (who, in identical body and mind, incorporated the possibility of being vice-president of Barça and also “friend Joan”), but in an independent version when he visits the headquarters of Òmnium Cultural and Tercera Via when he has his buttocks at Mediapro. I won’t talk much about Basté, because Jordi already knows that I love him very much, and it must also be said that he was already paying with the face he shot. Luckily the event was only meant to last a short time.

To me all these pamemes matter rather little, because they are part of a scum that will die on their own. But I feel sorry for fellow citizens in good faith who still trust the ANC and Òmnium, entities that had shown very reasonable reluctance against the amnesty (and they did well, because the correct strategy, as Carles Puigdemont had promised, was to get that the European justice system declares the nullity of the judgment of the process, thus giving a good blow to the Spanish judiciary) and that they have ended up becoming a delirious mirror of our political parties. By professional deformation, I believe in the intrinsic rationality of the human being, and it is very difficult for me to accept that the members of these entities feel comfortable seeing the umpteenth act of widening the base that only helps the establishment of the Spanishism in Catalonia. Let everyone fuck what they want, but I would save the fee for these bars and spend it on a platform.

And you, Catalan journalists?

Having said that, Catalan journalists: what do you know about the Tsunami? I hear you
