A new way to help enhance physical, cognitive and socialization functions
The activities assisted with animals are contributing to improving the well-being of the users of the Agullana Service Center. This initiative, promoted by the Agullana Day Center and managed by SUMAR, has incorporated therapy dogs and cats to promote social connection and improve the physical and cognitive functions of the participants. This technique, in collaboration with the Lladruc dog training center in Peralada, is bringing joy and positive emotions to users.
Diversity of interventions and areas of application
Therapy dogs and cats are collaborating with various areas, including hospitals, child psychology centers, high-complexity schools and homes for the elderly. In addition, Lladruc offers its service at the Figueres Hospital, the Llançà day center and more recently in Agullana. The various interventions include therapy and assisted education with dogs, as well as accompanying programs and activities that promote social connection between participants.
