A tragedy shook Mollet this Sunday night, when a woman died due to a fire that originated at number 5 Ramon Casas street, on the corner with Anselm Clavé. The Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating the circumstances of the fire, which also injured two other people.
Firefighters located the fire in a room and found the lifeless body of the victim
Firefighters were notified of the fire at 7:58 p.m. and went to the scene. The fire started on one of the floors of the second floor and spread quickly. Firefighters entered the home to extinguish the flames and search for its occupants. In one of the rooms, which was completely charred, they found the lifeless body of a 94-year-old woman. The other two people who lived in the building, a 72-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, were able to get out of the building on their own. They were treated and taken to the hospital in Mollet del Vallès by the medical emergency services (SEM), which mobilized 3 units.
Residents of the building were confined until firefighters secured the area
The firefighters, who had eight equipment: three water vehicles, a self-escalator, a respiratory equipment van, three command with the deputy chief of territorial coordination, and the sanitary unit of the GROS (Operative Support Group) with a EMS nurse, they declared the fire under control at 8:45 p.m. and checked the rest of the floors.
