The work will last three weeks and will cause traffic interruptions and changes to the city bus
Carrer de Santa Clara, one of the busiest streets in Girona, will receive an improvement to its pavement by the city council. This is a sector of the road that is deteriorated by the passage of vehicles and the action of time. The section affected is the one that goes from Plaça de la Independència to number 62 of Carrer de Santa Clara. The intervention will begin tomorrow, February 6, and it is estimated that it will last about three weeks.
This work will lead to the interruption of vehicle traffic day and night in this sector of the street, as the City Council has informed in a statement. This will also affect the L12 line of the urban bus, which will have to modify its route through Gran Via de Jaume I, Plaça de l’Hospital, Plaça de Pompeu Fabra and Plaça de Catalunya. In addition, the two bus stops on Carrer de Santa Clara will be removed.
Access to the fords
Residents who have a ford on Carrer de Santa Clara will have to take into account the following changes. To access the ford at number 62 on Carrer de Santa Clara, you will have to do so from Carrer del Nord, passing through Carrer de les Hortes and driving in the opposite direction on Carrer de Santa Clara to the ford. To access the ford at number 11 on Carrer de Santa Clara, they will also have to do so from Carrer del Nord and Carrer de les Hortes, but following the usual direction of travel along Carrer de Santa Clara. In the event that Carrer de Santa Clara is cut off by the Central del Molí works, access to the ford will be from Carrer de la Sèquia or from Pont de Pedra. In this situation, notice will be given in advance of the effects at the roundabout of Avinguda de Ramon Folch and on the municipal website.
