Torrential rains in Catalonia
On Friday 12 July, Catalonia will experience a day of heavy rain in several parts of the autonomous community. Torrential rain is expected in areas of the Pyrenees and Western Pre-Pyrenees until noon, with the possibility of showers in other areas of the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, central coastal and pre-coastal sectors. From noon, rain is expected in parts of the northeast quadrant and to a lesser extent in other mountainous areas. These rains can be accompanied by electrical activity and will have a variable intensity, accumulating different amounts of water depending on the area.
Cloudiness and Temperature
A gradual increase in cloudiness is expected, leaving the sky partly or very cloudy in the eastern half of the country, Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, while the rest of the region will remain partly to partly cloudy, especially in Ponent and other parts of the west Maximum temperatures will be moderate or noticeably lower, except in some areas of the central and extreme southern coast, where they will be similar or slightly higher.
Wind and Visibility
Visibility will generally be good to excellent, but during showers or showers, it could be transiently fair to poor. The wind will predominate from south and west components in the interior and from south and east components on the coast, with some moderate gusts. In the Empordà, the north wind will blow, and at the end of the day, the wind will be light and variable in direction.
Advance of July 13
For the 13th of July, a mostly sunny sky or temporarily covered by some bands of high and medium clouds is expected. During the first half of the day, there will be low strata in coastal and pre-coastal areas. From midday, some clouds will grow in the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees and other mountainous points in the northeastern and pre-coastal quadrant. Minimum and maximum temperatures will be slightly to moderately lower, with the possibility of light showers in some mountainous and coastal areas during the first half of the day.
