An Unlucky Sunday
It was Sunday, April 7, and I was getting ready to go for a spin with the bike. I left home at around 7.30 in the morning and when I was going along the bike lane on Carrer Blanquerna and already around towards Plaça París, an unexpected incident happened.
The Unexpected Impact
As I was turning around, I was confronted by a BiciPalma user who was going on my right, quite fast and I couldn’t avoid it, resulting in an impact. As a result of the impact, I received a blow to my nose, shoulder and legs, and my bike was also damaged.
The Reaction of Other Users
The other user, a young person between 20-25 years old, showed little responsibility in the situation. After the impact, he asked if I was hurt, but after seeing the damage, he grabbed the atapins and ran away, even though I asked for his ID twice.
The Consequences
As a result of the impact, I could not get the data of the bike I was carrying and had to bear the pain for more than a month. Despite having made the complaint to the municipal police and to the offices of BiciPalma, I was not able to resolve it.
Reflections on the Situation
This incident was an unfortunate experience, especially considering the other user’s lack of responsibility. In addition, the lack of support from the relevant authorities in this situation has been disappointing.
conclusion
This incident has highlighted the need for better awareness and enforcement of traffic rules, especially for users of bicycles and other similar vehicles.
