The Political Spectacle in the Balearic Parliament

The president of the Balearic Parliament of Vox, Gabriel Le Senne, has expressed apologies to the citizens for what he considers to have been a spectacle, referring to the conflict that has engulfed his party on the islands for more than a week. The crisis has unleashed an unprecedented institutional catastrophe in the Balearic Islands with repercussions outside the islands.

Repercussions of the Crisis

The crisis has left the autonomous Chamber without being strengthened, calling into question the governability of the archipelago as a result of the investiture pact that PP and Vox signed last June.

Crisis Development

A week ago, five Vox regional deputies expelled two other colleagues from the parliamentary group, Gabriel Le Senne and the president of the party on the islands, Patricia de las Heras. The national leadership of Vox suspended the five rebels from militancy, leaving the party practically engulfed in Parliament.

Posture of Le Senne

Le Senne has expressed his joy that in the end no blood has reached the river and has closed the crisis with his group mates without injuries, trusting to be able to work with them professionally.

Future of the Parliamentary Group

Le Senne has rejected that in the agreement reached there is a specific counterpart to satisfy the rebel deputies, and has stated that he does not foresee changes in the parliamentary group.

Support to the Press

Despite the reproaches leveled at the press in the official statement, Le Senne thanked the journalists for their work during these two weeks, recognizing the seriousness of the expulsion letters and their well-deserved impact.

Opinion on Reforms

Le Senne has softened his support for the reform of the regulation proposed by MÉS to combat transfuguismo, arguing that it will have to be studied calmly in view of the new circumstances.
