Characteristics of the new facilities
The new barracks, located on Avinguda d’Alacant, will have two modern buildings: one intended for official offices in two heights and another for residential use with four floors, which will include a total of 20 official homes. This sustainable construction, with an investment of 8,300,000 euros, will be managed by the Society of Penitentiary Infrastructure and Equipment and State Security (SIEPSE).
Sustainability and energy efficiency
The new barracks project is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, prioritizing energy efficiency through the use of LED lighting, photovoltaic panels and devices that reduce water consumption, as well as promoting sustainable mobility with electric charging car parks and bicycle parking.
Scope of action
The new Mutxamel-Sant Joan barracks will cover a population of more than 52,000 inhabitants, serving an area that represents 94% of the municipalities in the province of Alicante and more than 52% of its population, with a workforce of almost 60 . Likewise, the Command of Alicante, with around 2,500 officers, is responsible for public safety in this area.
