A mobilization for the peasantry
The Unió de Pagesos union has called a new protest in Barcelona this Tuesday with the aim of blocking access to Mercabarna. Under the slogan ‘Farmers say enough’, the organizers want to prevent access to the wholesale market of fresh food from outside the European Union This action aims to claim an improvement in the economic conditions of the agricultural sector.
Uncontrolled product blocking
The union aims to block the entry of products that do not meet the health controls of the European Union, especially those that come from Morocco, such as tomatoes or beans [[1]](https://www.ara.cat/ language/5-arguments-5-tricks-don’t-change-language-don’t-incomodi_1_4544047.html). This protest is added to the demonstrations that the farmers started last week and that continue this Monday in different places in the demarcation of Lleida [[1]](https://www.ara.cat/llengua/5-arguments -5-tricks-not-changing-language-not-inconvenient_1_4544047.html).
Notification of restrictions
One of the spokespersons for the mobilization, Jordi Larios, has denounced that they are being prevented from continuing with the protest, despite having the corresponding permission to block the roads.
