Aigües de Reus plans to make significant investments worth 5 million euros throughout 2024. This budget will be allocated to various interventions related to the current state of drought, such as the entry into service of disused wells, the diversification of sources of supply, greater reuse of non-potable water and other works.

The drought directly affects the company’s investments. The Current Drought Emergency Plan requires us to be prepared with equipment, measures and infrastructure in case the situation becomes even more complicated.
Declarations of the Responsible Councilor
The councilor responsible for the service, Daniel Rubio, has affirmed that it is crucial to be proactive and responsible in the uses and consumption of water, since Reus is still on drought alert.
Diversity of Planned Works
The planned works include the start-up of a water denitrification system in the wells of the Agro-Reus estate, the adaptation of the well facilities located in the airport grounds, the implementation of new systems non-potable water reuse and other initiatives.
Maintenance of the Network and Energy Transition
An important part of the investment will go towards the maintenance of the city’s supply and sanitation network, as well as the renewal of the meter network in the process of progressive implementation of tele-reading.
