Dozens of farmers start a slow march
Dozens of farmers started this Monday, shortly after 9 am, a slow march along the A-2 from Alcarràs (Segrià) to the height of Soses, where they cut the road, right at the link with the AP-2.
From this point, the demonstrators tried to access the AP-2 to cut it, but a device of the Mossos d’Esquadra prevented them from doing so. Thus, the demonstrators got off the tractors and walked on a secondary dirt road until they were able to access the highway. After agreeing with the Mossos, the farmers make intermittent cuts in the direction of Zaragoza, which causes delays.
Farmers’ claims
One of the spokespersons for the mobilization, Jordi Larios, has denounced that at first the Mossos prevented them from continuing with the protest, as he assures that they had the corresponding permission to block the two roads. In this regard, the Government has warned that “patience is also running out” and that it may be later “when they need us they will not find us”.
Reasons for the protest
This mobilization is part of the protests of Catalan farmers, who demand fair prices and denounce excessive bureaucracy. The agricultural sector asks that the Government listen to them and call them to a new meeting to address their demands.
conclusion
The farmers continue with their mobilizations to achieve fair prices and an improvement in the conditions of the agricultural sector. The slow march and intermittent cuts on the A-2 and AP-2 in Soses are a form of protest to draw the attention of the Government and ask for solutions to their demands.
