New specialized profiles are formed in the textile sector in Lluçanès, Moianès and Berguedà

The presentation of the new project based on the textile sector

Osona, | The need to hire good weavers, foremen or spinners by companies in Berguedà, Moianès and Lluçanès has allowed these territories to start a project to train people with this type of more specialized profiles.

The students are instructed through the dual training system and by now there are already 24 people following the courses and more than a dozen companies interested in participating in the project.

Strengthening the local industrial model

With the aim of strengthening the local industrial model, retaining talent and promoting competitiveness, four programs have been designed in which 24 people participate. Companies linked to the textile sector in Lluçanès, this percentage corresponds to 6% of GDP. According to the president of the Consorci del Lluçanès, Isaac Peraire, the history of textiles in the territory has been written by the Puigneró company, “but that is already part of the past”. Peraire emphasized that despite what it represented, “textiles can continue to be the present and must also become the future”.

Benefits for the territories

In this same sense, the president of Moianès, Oriol Batlló, has expressed himself, who has highlighted that one of the strong points of the project is that it will allow part of the population to live and work in the territory. For his part, the second vice-president of the Provincial Council of Barcelona, ​​Marc Castells, has pointed out that local companies are a niche that can generate new job opportunities. The training takes place at the Berguedà Development Agency and each course lasts around 200 hours.
