A school with a first-class menu

When we say this menu is exceptional, we mean it. It is not common to find schools with such quality food on their daily menu, but it is also not common to find schools like St. Paul’s School. Located in the prestigious Pedralbes neighborhood in Barcelona, this private school stands out for offering a top-level school menu with local and high-quality products.

An exclusive license plate

The price of a school menu usually ranges between €5 and €10. However, in recent times, the service of many school cafeterias has experienced a considerable increase in prices due to the rise in prices of basic products such as olive oil or some vegetables. But for elite private schools, like St. Paul’s School, this price increase has no impact on their daily lives. Long before the crisis, inflation or other problems that affect ordinary mortals, prices at St. Paul’s were already very high compared to other private or subsidized centers. In fact, it is the most expensive private school in the country. According to some media such as El Español or El Periódico, the annual tuition for a boy or girl is around €900 per month.

An exclusive menu for a few

This price includes a part intended to cover the cost of the school cafeteria. A cost that, gastronomically speaking, is surely justified by the quality of the food. Although the exact amount allocated to the dining room is not known, what is certain is that it is an exclusive menu available only to those who can afford to pay close to a thousand euros per month for school tuition.

Own kitchen and fresh products

While some schools have catering services or use frozen or packaged foods to preserve them longer, at St. Paul’s School they have their own kitchen and use fresh products. Every day they receive local food of organic origin certified by Intereco, a prestigious auditor that guarantees the quality of all products. In addition, the Laboratorios Echevarne company carries out exhaustive control of the condition of the food that arrives, with periodic and scientific monitoring of everything that passes through the kitchen.

Recognition for excellence

The kitchen at St. Paul’s School is directed by Marc Esteve, a chef responsible for serving nearly a thousand menus a day in three shifts. The exceptional quality of its cuisine has been recognized with the first distinction of collective catering service with the Slow Food seal, which guarantees the use of seasonal and GMO-free foods. St. Paul’s School offers breakfast, lunch and snacks from P3 to 2nd grade, and breakfast and lunch from 3rd grade to 2nd grade.
