Carles Puigdemont and the elections in Catalonia
Carles Puigdemont, leader of the Junts+Puigdemont candidacy for Catalonia in the May 12 parliamentary elections, has warned the Spanish government and Pedro Sánchez that his party will not support the general budgets of the Spanish State if it does not comply with Catalonia .
Puigdemont demands that the Generalitat can manage all infrastructure, including the airport, train tracks and ports. In addition, he criticizes the control that the State exercises over the Free Zone Consortium without being its owner.
Puigdemont presents himself as the only candidate capable of standing up to Madrid and gaining respect from the Spanish government.
The relationship with the Spanish state
One of the fundamental axes of the next legislature will be the relationship with the Spanish state, according to Puigdemont.
Puigdemont considers that Salvador Illa, head of the PSC list, represents surrender to Madrid, while Pere Aragonès, candidate of the Left, represents inaction.
Puigdemont warns that they will not approve any budget if the historical breaches that the Spanish governments have caused in Catalonia are not reversed.
Prioritization of Madrid in investments
Puigdemont warns that with Illa as president, the Community of Madrid will continue to be prioritized in investments.
Puigdemont denounces the fiscal plunder and the investment deficit that Catalonia is suffering and assures that he will not allow any setback in Catalonia’s national interests.
Together and Puigdemont vs. Left handed
The spokeswoman for Junts in Madrid, Míriam Nogueras, and the general secretary of the party, Jordi Turull, consider that Esquerra has been amortized in Madrid and emphasize that Junts has demonstrated another way of relating to the Spanish state.
Nogueras denounces the difference in budget execution between Catalonia and Madrid and criticizes the republicans for not knowing how to be respected.
Together, Puigdemont presents itself as the force that will make the Spanish state pay what it owes to Catalonia.
