Hanging of the March 8 poster
This year, Alcoi’s Mayor’s Office has presided over the hanging of the poster for March 8, Women’s Day, an artistic work created by the student of the School of Art and Design of Alcoi, Andrea Morelló Silvestre. This event marked the beginning of the claims and celebrations that will take place during the month in honor of this date.
Focus on Women and Sport
This year, the demands and celebrations of 8M are particularly focused on women and sport. The City Hall’s doors have been opened to the city’s feminist associations, and an official reception was held before the poster was unveiled.
Programming of Activities
During this month, several activities will be carried out in commemoration of 8M. Highlights include a conference on the media treatment of women in sport, a table of experiences on the visibility of women athletes and a conference by Irene Villa, Spanish champion in adapted skiing. In addition, on March 8, the claim will take to the streets with a demonstration that will tour the city center.
