Aragonés defends the amnesty in the Senate

The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has confirmed his attendance at the meeting of the General Committee of the Autonomous Communities of the Senate called by the PP. In an interview, Aragonès expressed his interest in defending the amnesty, highlighting his perspective as a pro-independence, Catalan and leftist.

Aragonès pointed out that he perceives the PP’s attempts as an attack on the Spanish Government and stated that he is not afraid to defend the amnesty, considering it necessary to put an end to the repression that, according to him, was encouraged by the Popular Party in the past.

Criticism of the president of the Community of Madrid

The spokesperson for Más Madrid, Manuela Bergerot, has questioned the conduct of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, in relation to an unlicensed renovation of her home. Bergerot criticized the discrepancy between Ayuso’s luxurious lifestyle and the reality of the neighborhoods.

For his part, the PSOE spokesperson in the Madrid Assembly, Juan Lobato, reproached Ayuso for her behavior during a trip to Chile, insinuating that it does not benefit the people of Madrid. Ayuso responded by defending his financial independence and criticizing the expenses of other politicians.

More Madrid will appear in the judicial process

Más Madrid has announced its intention to present itself as a popular accusation in the judicial process related to alleged crimes of tax fraud and document falsification by Isabel Díaz Ayuso’s boyfriend. The training seeks to protect the rights of Madrid taxpayers and clarify the possible implications of the president’s boyfriend in businesses related to healthcare companies.

The party has expressed its determination to use all necessary means in this matter, joining the PSOE of Madrid, which has already appeared in the case.

Advancement of the Amnesty Law in the Senate

The joint commission of the Constitutional and Justice commissions of the Senate will set the processing calendar for the Amnesty Law. Meanwhile, the presentation that evaluates the autonomous impact of the norm will vote on the opinion proposed by the PP, which criticizes the proposal and considers it unconstitutional.

The law is expected to be sent to Congress for final approval before May 16, a deadline that coincides with the Catalan elections.
