The president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, has reiterated his firm commitment to the investigation of the FGSHSCSP, ensuring that the truth will be pursued regardless of the consequences. During the control session in Parliament, he emphasized that the search for justice will be carried out regardless of whom it affects, declaring that ‘who falls, pete who asks and leaves whatever comes out’.
Historical responsibility
Illa recalled that the irregularities and abuses denounced happened before the PSC assumed power, although he emphasized that his administration is not interested in ‘looking back’ to point out guilty. “You cannot associate these atrocious acts to a political color,” he said, insisting that the issue transcends the borders of the parties.

The Junts bench was not satisfied with Illa’s responses, accusing him of maintaining an ‘intolerable silence’ in front of the crisis. Mónica Sales, spokesman for the group, criticized the president for ‘hiding’ at a critical moment for the country and demanded an immediate rectification.
Remembering the recent past
Illa, in his defense, recalled that in the last 15 years, Junts has been in power for 12, and that the only relevant actions in this area were implemented by his government and by the Minister Carles Campuzano. ‘There have been no more performances,’ he said.
Criticism from Vox and proposals of the commons
Ignacio Garriga, leader of Vox in Catalonia, accused the socialist government of being ‘synonymous with scandals’ and failing to protect the most vulnerable, suggesting that the guardianship of minors has become a business for Junts, ERC and the PSC.
