Boost to Teacher Job Stability
With the intention of reinforcing the temporary teaching staff, Minister Ladislau Baró has announced a new call for applications to fill 26 vacant positions within the education system. This measure not only seeks to stabilize the employment situation of teachers, but also responds to the needs of the sector, prioritizing the positions of teachers of Catalan and human and social sciences.
A Strategy to Retain Talent
The Government aims to mitigate the high rate of temporary employment within the educational body, a phenomenon that has caused an exodus of trained professionals seeking better job opportunities. This call is a continuation of the consolidation plan initiated in 2016, which seeks to improve the working conditions of teachers and reduce the instability they have suffered for years.
Call Details
The call will be published soon on the employee portal and on the Education website, where the requirements and deadlines for participation are detailed. Both civil servants in the general administration seeking a change of assignment and interim employees with a minimum of five years of service in their current position will be able to apply.
Exam Calendar
Testing for candidates will take place between the end of January and the beginning of February, including written and oral tests, followed by a psychotechnical assessment. Those selected will take up their new positions on September 1, 2025, coinciding with the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
New Opportunities in the Administration
In addition to the teaching positions, the Council of Ministers has approved the call for two positions for head of area: one for Catalan language and another for qualifications, official exams and validation of learning through experience. This is an opportunity for civil servants and temporary workers looking to advance their careers.
Access and Procedures
The same requirements apply to this call, allowing the participation of civil servants from the general administration and temporary employees with a work history of five years or more. Details will be communicated through official channels, including the specifications with the criteria and deadlines for the tests.
