Complaint of interference and persecution
The ERC spokesperson, Raquel Sans, has denounced that there are certain judges and prosecutors who are in rebellion against the amnesty law and who invent crimes to continue persecuting the Catalan independentists. According to Sans, these inventions by part of the judiciary are a sample of their imaginative capacity not to apply the amnesty and to continue repressing. For the Republican spokesperson, these judges have decided to play politics and do not respect the separation of powers.
Junts reaction
For their part, Junts denounced what they consider an invented fantasy and revenge without scruples or shame. According to the party’s general secretary, Jordi Turull, anything goes to persecute the independentistas.
Investigation for treason and Russian interference
Judge Joaquín Aguirre is investigating crimes of treason and embezzlement of public funds due to the alleged links of independence leaders with Russian authorities and possible interference from Russia or China. In this investigation, he has charged a dozen people, including Carles Puigdemont, Artur Mas and other people close to him.
